BOYS AND GIRLS, THE SECRET WORDS FOR THE NEXT 2 YEARS ARE...

"under oath."

Get Bush and Cheney and the rest of 'em and put 'em under oath--about Iraq, 9/11, Katrina, profiteering, etc. Holy shit I can't wait...

I agree that we need to get some truthful answers out of the Bush administration about the last six years. However, I'm not so naive to think that we will probably every know the "real" truth. I also hope that the Democrats just don't go down a "revenge" road just because they can. The country doesn't need to get completely bogged down in all this finger pointing.

But, on the other hand, I do want accountability for any and all illegal activity. Not just what's considered illegal by one group or another, but rather by the Constitution and the word of law.

One thing that still leaves me flabbergasted with the whole political aspect (and perhaps Clinton can enlighten me)is:

How is it that the Dems (or the Republicans - except this time it's the Dems)can state unequivocally that they have proof of wrong doing by the Bush administration (or the opposition) and yet nothing ever comes of it. We seem to repeat this cycle administration after administration. Every body claims that every body else is lying and that they are the correct ones (kind of reminds of religion in some ways). As a common citizen, I know that I am not privy to the information that the White House has and I have no idea whether what they tell me is the truth, spin, or just an outright lie. The same goes for the media...You get a different story depending on what you watch. How can we glean the "real truth" without being involved our selves? I believe the old adage that if you say something long enough, it becomes truth. That goes for both sides. Whether it's an outright lie or genuine truth...

Perhaps I need to spend time studying political history and types of government to really get a handle on things. I personally have never felt that this country was on the road to becoming a fascist state or that Bush was going for a dictatorship. Perhaps I'm just naive and it would sneak up on me...or is it just mudslinging to get the other party back in power. Or maybe it's because I'm a white middle-class American and I'm really out of touch with other ethnicities and classes.

Can some provide a cogent response to these thoughts?
